Hi, I am Steve Davis, I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. I work with computers, and my other interests include Amateur Radio and Search and Rescue. I also have a blog. See blog.zl2ucx.gen.nz (which hasn't beenupdated in a while)
For a hobby I am a keen Amateur Radio operator, and as such have been actively involved at a local and national level. I have been a National Councillor of NZART. I am also a Past President of the Christchurch Amateur Radio Club. As another radio related interest I am very involved in Amateur Radio Emergency Communications, being the Deputy Section leader for the Christchurch Section AREC, for fun and the serious business of Search and Rescue and Civil Defence.
My involvement with Amateur Radio Emergency Communications has lead to an involvement with the Canterbury District Land SAR organisation, and the Canterbury Land Search and Rescue Trust. I am currently the Training Coordinator on the CLSAR Management Committee. I am also the chairman of the New Zealand Land Search and Rescue Inc Communications Sub-Committee.
